Pour cette seconde journée européenne, le Montpellier Water Polo démarre mal : perdant 6-10 contre les Hongrois de Szeged Beton. Le but hongrois s'est révélé être très étroit, ce soir. Par rapport au match contre Douai, l'arbitrage est plus raisonnable, évitant que de petits conflits de tentative de noyade fort communs dans une piscine, ne virent à la vengeance et à l'obstruction.
